The Historic Preservation Commission unanimously approved a Certificate of Appropriateness on May 5 for exterior work at 108 West Gold Street.
HPO Kate McCourt described the house as previously covered in Insulbric (asbestos-style simulated brick shingles) and said the project would remove remaining Insulbric to expose original lap and drop siding, patch and replace siding in-kind where needed, and repaint using Sherwin-Williams paint. The owner indicated willingness to allow testing of old siding if contractors require it.
Commissioner Russell O’Leary moved to approve the COA; Member Bobbi Stauffer seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The HPC recorded the approval with no conditions in the meeting minutes.
