The text also noted Trevino’s prior service in the United States Army from 1988 to 1992 and stated that he obtained industry training through the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service and earned class two and class C water licenses (as identified in the proclamation). It listed awards and recognitions including the 2018 Moulton Award (as part of the meter technician team) and a San Marcos Police Department Life Saving Medal for saving a child. The proclamation said Trevino will retire on July 6.
"Now, therefore, I, Jane Hughson, by virtue of the authority vested in me as mayor of the city of San Marcos, Texas, do hereby proclaim the 6th day of July as Jesse Trevino Day," the mayor read during the ceremony, calling on the people of San Marcos to honor Trevino for his years of service.
