At its Nov. 12 meeting the Beaver Crossing Village Board approved several operational and maintenance actions intended to address immediate public‑works needs and routine administration.
Trustees unanimously approved amending the prior Burton Asphalt bid from $20,000 to $23,500 to complete outstanding street repairs. The board also approved hiring resident Gary Grantski to train Maintenance Worker Ryan Kratochvil on the motor grader at $25 per hour for up to 50 hours; trustees said they will review results after training.
On nuisance abatement, Trustee Jere Leif moved to hire Junk King to clean the property at 823 Elk St.; Trustee Brandon Mares seconded and the motion passed 5-0. Attorney David Solheim recommended a deputy be present on cleanup day and that owners and renters be communicated with prior to actions.
Trustees directed staff to draft a resolution to set parameters for the potential sale of a village lot north of the alley in the 800 block of Dimery; Attorney Solheim advised using a quitclaim deed and noted the Village would need an easement for the Village propane tank if sold. Trustee Eberspacher moved to allow the 800 block of Dimery to be closed Dec. 6 from 1:45–6:00 p.m.; that motion carried 5-0.
Maintenance reported three water mains still need locating; the remainder have been located and exercised. Maintenance suggested procuring a UTV; trustees asked staff to check pricing. A Miller Seed & Supply invoice for $212.48 (materials at the west Beaver Crossing entrance) was approved for payment from the general fund after it was not covered by a Forestry Grant.
Other routine approvals included adoption of Resolution 25-7 (Year-End Certification of City Street Superintendent), authorization for Clerk/Treasurer Peggy Pankoke to attend the 2026 Clerks Conference in La Vista, March 18–20, and approval of PTO for the clerk on Nov. 28. The board adjourned at 8:44 p.m.
Several items—water and sewer rate adjustments, and whether the fire department should bill for rescue services—were placed on an upcoming workshop agenda for further consideration.
