The board reviewed a layout for the proposed expansion prepared by Ayars & Ayars, Inc., which Trustee Mares presented. A department representative, Scott Petersen, told the board he believes the plan will meet the department’s needs. Trustees raised questions about site utilities, noting a possible existing sewer line on an adjacent property, and asked about options such as a 4-hour burn wall and its cost.
Attorney David Solheim reviewed the text of Resolution 25-8 and emphasized that the resolution is project-specific and does not commit the Village to accept any particular bid or contractor. The board did not set a construction schedule during the meeting; the next procedural steps are expected to follow additional design and budget work.
The vote sends the project into the design-build procurement path; the Village will continue review of plans and costs before any contract award. The board also heard related planning and funding items elsewhere on the agenda, including a SENDD survey distribution and a Nov. 20 workshop to set town goals, which could influence project priorities and local match discussions.
