Bayard council adopts Ordinance No. 894 to create Housing Authority Board, confirms two appointments

The Bayard City Council on March 10 unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 894, creating a Bayard Housing Authority Board and setting regulations for its operation. Mayor Scot Ouderkirk presided over the meeting at City Hall.

Council member Garrett Schukei moved to waive the three-reading requirement so the ordinance could be considered at the same meeting; Council member Chris Baird seconded. The waiver passed on a roll-call vote (ayes: Hernandez, Kraus, Schukei, Baird and Henkel; nays: none). Schukei then moved for final passage of Ordinance No. 894; Baird seconded. The roll-call vote for adoption was unanimous, and Mayor Ouderkirk declared the ordinance passed, adopted and ordered it published.

The council then approved the mayor’s nominations to the newly created board. Council member Diane Kraus moved to confirm appointments of Ryan Dalbey and Kim Burry to the Housing Authority Board; Council member Jamie Hernandez seconded. The vote was unanimous in favor.
