Roxbury selectmen approve land purchase, dock grant actions and warrant signings in unanimous votes

Selectman Timothy Derouche, Selectman Matthew Patneaude and Selectman Ray Hodsdon voted unanimously on a series of procedural and financial items at the Town of Roxbury Board of Selectmen meeting on July 12, 2022.
The board signed a purchase and sale agreement for land at the pond for Bayroot LLC; the deed will be completed at a later meeting and will require notarization, the board said. Selectman Timothy Derouche moved to sign the agreement; the motion passed 3-0. The board also voted to approve a Special Town Meeting warrant (motion by Selectman Matthew Patneaude, second by Selectman Ray Hodsdon; vote 3-0).
On a separate agenda item the board approved two actions related to a dock grant. Selectman Timothy Derouche moved to sign the project certification for the dock grant and the board approved the certification 3-0. Derouche then moved to submit the grant application; that motion also passed 3-0, authorizing staff to file the application.
Financial routine business included approval of Warrant #13 for $19,560.63 (motion by Selectman Matthew Patneaude; second by Selectman Timothy Derouche; vote 3-0) and a motion by Selectman Timothy Derouche to transfer $19,085.80 from the operating account to the ARPA funds account, which the board approved 3-0.
The board also approved a motion to send a letter to the church about property tax (motion by Timothy Derouche; second by Ray Hodsdon; vote 3-0) and a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 p.m. (motion by Timothy Derouche; second by Ray Hodsdon; vote 3-0).
Most motions were procedural and passed unanimously; where further steps were required the board directed staff to follow up (for example, completing the deed with a notary and submitting the dock grant application). The board announced that minutes were later approved as written on July 26, 2022 and set the next Selectmen’s meeting for July 26 at 6:00 p.m.
