Roxbury hears FD report, schedules septic estimate, and flags cemetery and dock items

At its Aug. 9 meeting the Roxbury Board of Selectmen received a report from the Fire Department on a July 3 shed fire and on recent training activities, including coordination with RoxWind and a cornhole fundraiser. The minutes note the fire department is also looking into acquiring a boat.
On town facilities, Selectman Timothy Derouche said he would obtain a price from contractor Doyons to locate and pump the septic system and install a riser to make future locating easier. The board recorded no new update on door locks, cameras or a roof inspection.
The board noted they expect to hear soon about a dock grant application. In cemetery business the board said there was no update on cemetery signs; it located a mailing address for one burial party and continues research on another. The board agreed Lot L14 markers need to be moved two feet and said the owner may sell the lot back to the town. The minutes also record the need to refund a resident the difference between nonresident and resident fees because the definition of "resident" was not known at the time of sale.
The board directed follow-up on the septic estimate and the dock grant; no additional action was taken at the meeting.
