Chisago City Council approved a one-time transfer of $1,376.34 from the Parks Capital Fund to the General Fund to cover staffing and operations costs for the city's ice rink during an earlier-than-expected winter.
Finance Director Cassie Gemuenden said unusually early cold and snowfall in December prompted multiple public requests to open the rink ahead of schedule and that Parks Superintendent Zacho preapproved additional attendant staffing. The transfer was requested to offset the resulting over-expenditure against the general fund.
Council member Mark Anderson moved to approve the transfer and Council member Marie Rivers seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
