Associate Planner Leah Nelson told the Chisago City Council that High Pointe Group requested a one-year extension of the final plat approval for the Lake Martha Overlook subdivision. The original final plat approval dated Jan. 23, 2024, had received a 12-month extension in November 2024; without approval of a further extension, the current approval would expire Jan. 23, 2026.
Nelson said staff recommended approval of the extension with three conditions: recording the approved plat with the appropriate county offices, execution of a development agreement, and compliance with all conditions listed in the original approval (Resolution 24-01-03). Council member Craig Meyer asked about how many extensions might be requested; Council member Nikki Battles asked whether the plat had already been recorded, and City Administrator John Pechman said the developer had not reached that stage.
Council member Craig Meyer moved to extend the final plat filing deadline by one year to Jan. 23, 2027; Council member Mark Anderson seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
