Chisago City council approves annexation petition for 11839 302nd Street

The Chisago City Council on July 22 accepted a petition to annex approximately 0.5 acres at 11839 302nd Street after Associate Planner Leah Nelson said the property owner, Matthew Kjellberg, requested annexation to connect to city sewer and water.
Nelson said staff will contact the Chisago Lakes Township clerk and provide a joint orderly annexation agreement for signature by the mayor and township administrator; the agreement will then be submitted to the State Boundary Adjustments for review and approval. Council member Craig Meyer noted that utilities were stubbed in on that street when the South Lindstrom Shores development was constructed.
Council member Craig Meyer moved to approve Resolution 25-07-02 to accept the petition for annexation and direct staff to execute the agreement; Council member Marie Rivers seconded and the council approved the motion with all ayes.
The council’s action authorizes staff and the mayor to proceed with the orderly annexation process; final boundary adjustments remain subject to State Boundary Adjustments review and township concurrence.
