Board discusses food-truck policy changes and approves multiple vendor and liquor licenses

The Minocqua Board of Supervisors discussed proposed changes to the town’s food-truck policy and approved multiple vendor and liquor-license applications on June 2.
Chairman Mark Hartzheim presented proposed amendments that would allow food trucks to use Parking Lot E (adjacent to the highway), permit consecutive overnight parking, permit the same vendor to set up at one location up to three times per week, and require the town clerk to work with the police chief on background checks and to report any concerns to the board. The proposal also would establish a penalty for hosting a food truck without a permit equal to three times the fee ($150) and bar the host business from hosting food trucks for six months.
Clerk Roben Haggart presented applications and the board approved Yahoo Barbecue (owner Charles Kandutsch) to operate at The Bottled Bean and Northern Waters Distillery; Saucy Noods (owner Tanner Kratochvil) for The Bottled Bean; and Wake & Lake (owner Traci Petrie) for Parking Lot E, TJ’s Butcher Block and Stoney Creek throughout the summer. The board approved the Wake & Lake application on a motion by Brian Fricke seconded by Lance Krolczyk; Supervisor Erika Petersen abstained on that vote. Supervisor Brian Fricke moved and Supervisor Billy Fried seconded approval of the 2026–2027 liquor-license renewals; the board approved the renewals by voice vote. The board also approved a temporary alcohol-beverage license for the Minocqua Museum for June 19–20 for the Minocqua Antique & Classic Boat Show at Torpy Park.
The clerk will coordinate with Chief of Police Glenn Janzer on background-check procedures and bring any concerns to the board before license approvals are finalized.
