Sewer Authority reviews billing system quote, conditionally approves equipment calibration and discusses board vacancy

At its Feb. 3 meeting the Paradise Township Sewer Authority reviewed several administrative and operational items: a billing system quote, equipment calibration, board vacancy, and easement documentation.

The board reviewed a Munibilling quote for a new billing system with estimated annual service costs of $6,000–$8,000 plus $546 per month under a five-year agreement. The minutes state the board will consider a proposal for a new billing system in the next budget year; no contract was approved at this meeting.

The board considered a proposal from WG Malden for calibrating equipment and conditionally approved the proposal, subject to final review and comments by Board Member Brian Groff. The motion passed unanimously.

The minutes record that Elmer Miller tendered his resignation, creating a vacancy on the Sewer Authority. The solicitor advised that vacancies due to resignation are subject to appointment by the Authority, unless the term has expired, in which case the Township Board of Supervisors would appoint a new member. The board discussed possibly appointing Kaitlyn Jones to fill the vacancy at the March meeting. The minutes also note that the access easement agreement for Vintage Business Park is still needed and that the solicitor is drafting the agreement.

There was a question from Bryan Stoltzfus about whether a new building for Eldon Stoltzfus with a single-employee restroom requires assignment of an additional EDU; Rettew said more information is needed to make that determination.

The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.; the board will meet again March 3, 2025.
