Paradise Township Sewer Authority approves $750,000 DCED grant contract and several project payments

The Paradise Township Sewer Authority approved execution of a $750,000 Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) grant contract and a slate of project payments and procurement items at its April 7, 2025 meeting.
The board, composed of Bryan Stoltzfus, J.B. Stoltzfus, David Bowman, Brian Groff and Kaitlyn Jones, voted unanimously to authorize the DCED grant contract and to approve several motions including a purchase order from Ember Enterprises for Boerger process pump filters, a one-year service contract with Aerzen, and a quote from Maryland Bio Chemical for a defoamer. The board also approved adding all members as signatories on the Authority's Truist account (for OLDS).
Rettew Associates reported several construction-related approvals. The board approved Change Order 15, adding an interconnection between post-anoxic tanks (A-6, A-12 and A-18) for $25,604.37, on a motion by J.B. Stoltzfus, seconded by Brian Groff. The board also approved Change Order 16, for additional sludge hauling services by McGovern in the amount of $1,222.16, on a motion by David Bowman, seconded by Brian Groff. Rettew advised that Contract #1 is substantially complete.
The Authority unanimously approved monthly requisitions from its trust funds to pay: Pumping Solutions, Inc. (WWTP-056, Contract #3 Payment Application #4) for $41,442.00; Veolia Water Technologies (WWTP-057, Procurement Payment Application #4) for $35,846.75; Lobar, Inc. (WWTP-058, Contract #1 Payment Application #22) for $163,608.63; and Pumping Solutions, Inc. (WWTP-059, Contract #2 Payment Application #10) for $35,007.50. The total of those four requisitions is $275,904.38.
Board motions and approvals were recorded as unanimous. The meeting packet and engineer's report, which included the February Discharge Monitoring Report and a 2024 Chapter 94 filing, were incorporated into the minutes. The board adjourned at 8:45 p.m.; its next regular meeting is scheduled for May 5, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
