Peter Flaherty read policy DJ (Bidding/Purchasing Requirements) and a motion to approve a set of policies—IKC: Transcripts; IHCDA: Post Secondary Enrollment Options; IKFA: Graduation of Students with Disabilities; GCJS: Use of Personal Appliances; and DJ—was made by Stu Hogan and seconded by Peter Flaherty. The board voted unanimously to approve the policies.
"We wanted to change the policy down to $25,000 to go out to bid to be in control," a finance committee report said, describing a recommendation to lower the dollar threshold that triggers competitive bidding for purchases. Finance committee members are continuing work on copier contracts and expect final numbers next month.
Peter Flaherty said the building committee will reconvene in March after a pause and that state guidance on school funding could arrive as early as March or as late as June. The report did not specify which projects would be on any state funding list.
