Town manager cites AAA credit upgrade and gives schedule for Pine Island breakwater renourishment

Orlando also provided a project update on the Pine Island breakwater renourishment: the town received the permit and is finalizing construction plans; Marinix Construction had begun mobilization at Fish Haul Beach Park and off‑shore, with weather‑dependent work targeting an August 6 start for initial mobilization activities. He warned that a temporary access road and short closures at Fish Haul will be necessary during early construction phases and said the town will post weekly updates to the beach‑renourishment web page to notify residents and visitors.
Orlando noted other items in his report, including a recognition for Fire Rescue (Mission Lifeline EMS Gold Achievement Award) and completion of landscaping and safety improvements on William Hilton Parkway. He directed residents to the town’s online project dashboard for ongoing updates.
What’s next: staff will post the project schedule and weekly updates online and return to council as procurement and financing steps (including possible bond financing later this year) are finalized.
