Key items reviewed and approved included:
• Otis: a centralized K‑12 data management and analytics platform intended to consolidate attendance, behavior, interventions and accountability data and provide dashboards to educators, students and parents; the administration said Otis will restore district analytics capabilities previously handled by a legacy platform.
• Wayfinder: a memorandum of understanding to implement the Wayfinder social‑emotional learning platform inside a Multi‑Tiered System of Supports framework; administrators said Wayfinder complies with student privacy requirements and parents will not have administrative access to student data.
• Define Learning: an amendment expanding access to health and physical education teachers through a one‑year pilot at no cost to the district.
• Junior League of Jackson: renewal of a teacher mini‑grant program (averaging $100,000 annually at no cost to district) to fund classroom and school projects.
• Canopy School: renewal of a placement agreement for scholars requiring approved non‑public special education placement as part of district IDEA obligations.
• Faircloth Demolition: service agreement for demolition and abatement at Baker, French and Woodville Heights elementary schools.
• Debtbook: three‑year renewal and start‑of‑fiscal‑year adjustment to support GASB 87 and 96 reporting for leases and subscription arrangements.
Administrators said the Define Learning amendment and Junior League renewal carry no cost to the district for the pilot or grant program, respectively. Trustees asked standard diligence questions about data access, privacy and vendor scope; presenters said Otis would provide role‑based access to parents, students and staff and that Wayfinder follows applicable student privacy rules.
Board members approved the information/action items and the consent agenda by voice vote.
