YESS asks Park Rapids to serve as fiscal host for family resource center grant; council refers review to Finance Committee

Kori Nelson, director of Family Resource Center — YESS, asked the City of Park Rapids at a May 26 work session to serve as the fiscal host for the first round of grant funding for a new family resource center serving Hubbard County and surrounding areas.

Nelson told the council the proposal would bring services to families in need — including help with food insecurity, technology access and a community visitation area — and showed a map of neighboring counties that have signed up for or been awarded similar funding. She said her goal is to expand local resources and coordination for families across the region.

The council did not make a final decision. Councilmember Engholm moved, Councilmember Little seconded, and the council unanimously carried a motion to refer the city’s review of the fiscal-agency request to the City of Park Rapids Finance Committee for consideration.
