Bennet council approves limited vehicle access to Hunter’s Ridge well house; member abstains
Summary

The Bennet City Council on March 9 voted to allow a driveway to be installed on Saltillo Road to provide maintenance access to the shared well house in the Hunter’s Ridge Addition.
Property owner Dave Griffith told the council the driveway is needed to reach the northeast corner well house for maintenance. Council Member Josh Buck moved the motion and Pete Simmons seconded. The motion approved a waiver of the relinquishment of direct vehicular access set out in the Hunter’s Ridge final plat recorded in Lancaster County. The vote tally was three yes votes (Simmons, Buck, Jesse Schmidt) and one abstention by Council Member Dan Zieg, who declared a conflict. The motion carried.
The waiver references the Final Plat for Hunter’s Ridge dated Sept. 21, 2006 and recorded in the Lancaster County Register of Deeds as Instrument No. 2006-052912. City Attorney David Solheim said he would incorporate any necessary legal language and record the action consistent with county records.
The council also approved a separate curb-cut waiver for a request from Brandon Garvin, allowing a curb cut not to exceed 12 feet in width with a paved approach.
