Midway council adopts tentative FY 2027 budget and schedules June 2 public hearing

Budget Officer Nancy Simons reviewed the tentative FY 2027 budget and described several reductions and new items, including funding lines for building projects and for improvements on the Pine Canyon trail. Council members asked that Pine Canyon trail line items be broken out for clarity.
Council Member JC Simonsen moved to approve the tentative FY 2027 budget and to set a public hearing for June 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the Midway Community Center; Council Member Andy Garland seconded and the motion passed with all council members voting aye.
The council noted that additional detail on project line items will be provided at the public hearing and during subsequent budget discussions. The tentative adoption does not finalize spending; the public hearing is the next procedural step.
