The Board of Regents voted June 16 to authorize the Governance and Human Resources Committee to advertise a request for qualifications/proposals and to select a national search firm to assist with hiring a new Executive Director following the retirement of the current director.
Carolann Jensen, the Board office Chief Operating Officer, told members the process will mirror a presidential search: the committee will advertise, evaluate responses and select a firm to provide candidate‑identification services and a search timeline. Regents approved the procurement plan by roll call; the Board recorded the vote and directed the Governance Committee to proceed.
Following approval of the procurement plan, the Board voted to convene a closed session under statutory authority to discuss litigation strategy and to seek confidential legal advice. The roll-call vote to enter closed session was recorded and the Board recessed into closed session.
