Midway council approves FY2026 amendment to move excess revenue to capital projects, add audiovisual improvements

The Midway City Council voted April 21 to approve Resolution 2026-08, an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2026 budget that reallocates funds across several city accounts and adds line items including audiovisual improvements for city facilities.
City Recorder Brad Wilson presented the amendment and reviewed General Fund, Municipal Building Authority (MBA) Fund, CIP Fund, Water Fund, Ice Sheet Fund and Souvenir Shop Fund revenue and expenditures. The amendment included a proposed transfer of excess General Fund revenue to the CIP Fund and funding for audiovisual improvements. Wilson’s presentation and supporting materials were part of the meeting’s supplemental files.
Mayor Craig Simons opened a public hearing; no public comment was received. Council Member Andy Garland moved to approve the resolution and Council Member Andrew Osborne seconded. The motion passed with Garland, Osborne, Payne and Simonsen voting in favor; Council Member Lisa Orme was excused.
The amendment authorizes the transfers and expenditure adjustments described during the presentation; staff will implement the changes in the city’s accounting records and follow up as appropriate on capital project scheduling and audiovisual procurement.
