Camille Palmer, the mayor’s assistant, told the Council that applicants sought $154,282 and staff recommended awarding $100,452 from TAP revenue collected over the prior six months, leaving several thousand dollars unallocated. The Council discussed rotating members through the review process and noted prior awards to local groups such as the Midway Boosters.
Palmer said the Wasatch Trails Foundation requested $60,000 but staff recommended $20,000. After brief council discussion about past awards and an applicant that had a pending duplicate request with Wasatch County, Council Member Andy Garland moved to approve the recommendations; Council Member Lisa Orme seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The awards will be funded from TAP revenue collected over the previous six months, per Palmer’s presentation. The Council did not amend the award amounts at the meeting. Staff will process the awards and notify successful applicants of the conditions and any required city permitting.
