"This week we're moving forward with the ADOC Alabama Department of Corrections inmate work program... We are also expecting delivery of a NACOG donated bus this week," he said.
He noted Sheffield City Schools has secured a $10 million bond and is in phase one of improvements including stadium renovations, parking and facility upgrades; the mayor tied school investment to broader city improvement and paving projects scheduled for 2027.
The update emphasized implementation and systems (training, transportation, contracts and reporting) rather than immediate new spending decisions at the council meeting. The mayor framed these items as early steps in a coordinated program intended to raise operational and communication standards across the city.
