Resident Daniel Palmer asks Fox River Grove to require privacy fencing at Grove Residences site

Daniel Palmer, a resident of 420 Concord Avenue, asked the Village of Fox River Grove Board of Trustees on Nov. 9 to require a privacy fence and natural landscape screening along the Grove Residences development after demolition removed existing barriers.
Palmer told the board that "privacy barriers (i.e., trees & chain link fence) between their backyards and the new apartments were removed during the demolition phase, allowing visibility into their yards and homes," and he asked the board to include a new privacy fence and plantings as a condition when approving the development's final plans.
President Marc McLaughlin thanked Palmer for coming to the meeting. The minutes record no formal response from the developer nor a motion by the board to require specific screening or fencing at that meeting.
The request was made during the public-comment portion of the Nov. 9 capital improvements meeting, which otherwise focused on the village's 10-year capital improvement plan and several infrastructure and park projects. The record does not show any follow-up direction to staff to require or negotiate a fence with the developer at that time; any such action would require separate staff work or a future agenda item.
