Airplane Noise Advisory Committee approves minutes and advances draft complaint flyer

At its April 14 meeting the Airplane Noise Advisory Committee approved the March 10 minutes 3-0 and discussed edits and distribution for a draft flyer instructing Milton residents how to file noise complaints with Massport; the flyer will be revised and submitted to the Town Administrator and Select Board for review.
The Airplane Noise Advisory Committee met April 14 in Milton's Baker Conference Room and voted 3-0 to approve the minutes of its March 10, 2026 meeting. The motion to approve was made by Raj Pathak and seconded by David Godine.
Committee members spent the bulk of the meeting discussing a draft informational flyer on how residents can file airplane-noise complaints with Massport. David Godine distributed the draft, committee members recommended edits and Mr. Godine was asked to revise the flyer. Before the Committee takes further action, the revised draft will be submitted to the Town Administrator and/or the chair of the Select Board so they can advise whether the flyer may be posted on the Town’s website and social media pages. The Committee also discussed possibly submitting the flyer to the Milton Times for publication.
Katie Conlon reported she is waiting for a status update from the Town Administrator on a letter the Committee drafted in March to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs that had been prepared for the Select Board. Members did not record additional details about the letter’s content or any response from the state agency.
Members discussed scheduling the next Committee meeting on a date when Massport Community Advisory Committee representative Paul Hogan and Select Board member John Driscoll are available. Committee members indicated availability on May 18 or June 1; the Chair will check the availability of Mr. Hogan and Mr. Driscoll and report back.
The meeting opened at 6:05 p.m. and adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
