Staff told the council both items are paid from grant funds, including a donation noted as coming from Bob Archuleta, and will not affect the city’s general fund.
Consent calendar: the council approved consent-calendar items D1–D5 and D7; item D6 (a change order related to steel fencing at the park) was pulled for discussion. A councilmember flagged a roughly 61% cost increase on the fencing change order versus the original bid; staff said additional fencing, gates and repair work (including vehicle-damage repairs) explain the increase and offered to return with a detailed map and itemized costs. The council directed staff to bring D6 back at the next meeting.
Other procedural actions: the council received and filed the AB 2561 report on vacancies and staffing (staff reported no current vacancies), and received and filed the April 2026 budget report.
