Trustees approve 2025 capital purchases, authorize equipment sales and pass nuisance resolutions

The Norwich Township Board of Trustees approved a series of routine financial and property actions at its June 3, 2025 meeting, recording unanimous votes on each item.
Vice-Chairman Rick Tidd moved, and Trustee Sonny Cantrell seconded, approvals for several 2025 capital budget purchases: shelving and equipment from Home Depot for $2,500; a range and refrigerator from Restaurant Equippers for $4,673; janitorial items for Station 84 from Imperial Dade for $2,000; and tree-and-bush removal at Station 81 by Penningtons Tree Service LLC for $2,500. The board also approved an emergency purchase of $890 to remove a dead ash tree in the right-of-way on Schirtzinger Road through Ahlum and Arbor.
On surplus property and disposals, trustees authorized selling a township-owned bounce house on GovDeals in as-is condition with no minimum bid and approved listing a 2008 International Durastar snow plow truck on GovDeals with a starting bid of $5,000. The board approved a Letter of Agreement with Eastman & Smith Ltd. for the 2025 Consortium 3 Solid Waste Contracting Services and authorized the chairman to sign the agreement. Trustees also approved a $520 correction to the Kesler name on the First Responders Park plaque.
The board passed three separate resolutions finding grass conditions to constitute nuisances at 6435 Renner Road (Columbus), 4601 Cosgray Road (Hilliard), and 4594 Cosgray Road (Hilliard). In a separate cemetery item, trustees denied an eligibility-exception request to purchase graves at Wesley Chapel Cemetery at the resident rate.
