Administrative analyst Robbie (Robbie Stark) presented proposed revisions to the Clerk of the Board job description and recommended aligning compensation to market comparables, proposing a salary of $120,000. Stark told the board the role now includes management of the board’s budget, administration of multiple county technology systems, coordination of complex Public Records Act requests with county counsel, oversight of county boards and commissions, and maintenance of county ordinances and policies.
Stark said the county’s job classification plan required a formal review and that the proposed salary would place the Clerk of the Board “just above” the regional market average for comparable counties and 10 percent above a county Senior Administrative Analyst position. CAO and supervisors emphasized this is a position‑based change rather than a personnel reward: Joe Lynch told the board the reclassification was undertaken to reflect duties, not a performance bonus.
Multiple supervisors praised the incumbent’s work and said they supported the change. The board moved, seconded and voted unanimously to adopt the revised job description and the $120,000 salary. The CAO said benefits adjustments and broader compensation study results will be incorporated into further countywide recommendations.
