Crawford council approves parks equipment, community building floor and Cattle Call street closing; hears library and golf reports

Parks: Council approved a $480 quote from Power House for a mulch kit (motion by Brent Gebbie, second by Tony Storbeck; vote recorded in favor). Parks Lead Kevin Hall reported recent tree removals and additional trees identified for safe removal by park staff; Council Member Gebbie raised concerns about staff protective equipment and insurance.
Community Building: Council approved the proposed floor color and cove base for the Community Building floor project (motion by April Grant, second by Christopher Dean; unanimous among members present).
Events and public works: Council granted a street closing from Main Street and Linn Street to 2nd Street for the annual Cattle Call on Nov. 2, 2024, 7 a.m.–5 p.m., and authorized two employees to assist with cleanup at 4:30 p.m. for a total of $350 (motion by Grant, second by Gebbie).
Library and Golf: The library reported an author event Oct. 29 and other upcoming activities; the Golf Board reported disputed losses of approximately $22,000 and discussed pond work and clubhouse rental pricing.
Finance: The council approved payroll and an itemized list of bills and claims that total $40,375.35 and payroll checks of $18,201.36.
