Anaconda Deer Lodge County DUI Task Force approves outreach purchases, forwards 2026–27 plan to commissioners

On outreach, the task force debated whether to distribute gas cards or coffee cards as part of the CHEERS! To Sober Drivers outreach. Morgan Smith said the group had considered “rewarding the drivers with ‘something different’ (the gas cards),” but the assembly approved a motion by Mike Beausoleil, seconded by Trooper George Nassour, to purchase coffee gift cards for the Fourth of July distribution; each listed establishment will receive five coffee gift cards.
The task force approved two small-material purchases to support outreach: a motion by Officer Marc Arment to buy 400 branded gift-card sleeves from Amazon at $20.99 carried unanimously, and a motion by Arment to buy 100 magnetic bumper stickers with rounded corners also passed unanimously. Lauren Bolten volunteered to create and procure logo stickers to affix to the sleeves. The group agreed the final bumper-sticker copy and design remain undecided and asked members to bring design ideas to the next meeting.
Sue Konicek presented the DUI Task Force Plan for 2026–27; Lauren Bolten moved to accept the plan and Officer Marc Arment seconded. The plan will go before the Anaconda Deer Lodge County commissioners on July 16 for approval and signatures, then be submitted to the state as required.
The meeting concluded administrative business and adjourned at 11:00 a.m. Several agenda items recorded motions passing “unanimously” in the minutes; individual vote tallies were not specified in the record. The minutes list the next meeting date as June 11, 2026, which conflicts with the current meeting date and appears to be a clerical error in the draft minutes.
