Denton trustees accept maintenance resignation, approve street-dance permit and review staffing and street maintenance plans

The board tabled action on hiring a temporary emergency maintenance employee and on hiring an interim maintenance employee and setting maximum hours until the June 1 meeting.
Trustees approved an open-drinking permit submitted by the Denton Daily Double for a street dance on June 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.; Trustee Ryan Osborn moved to approve the permit, Trustee Amanda Fangmeier seconded, and the motion carried.
During public comment, resident Lona Anderson reported observing that street striping paint “was not adhering on February 2, 2026.” The board later reviewed bids for street striping and Chair Hobelman said he would contact APMS to discuss prior work quality.
Trustee Amanda Fangmeier said she will serve as the village’s point of contact for the Plant Nebraska program going forward.
