Denton trustees approve disaster-relief resolution, authorize tree removal and personnel appointment

Chair Joe Hobelman opened the meeting at 6:33 p.m. and trustees first approved the April 6, 2026 meeting minutes after a motion by Trustee Doug Rosekrans and a second from Trustee Amanda Fangmeier.
Trustee Amanda Fangmeier moved to adopt Resolution 16-5-1, described in the minutes as a Disaster Relief NRD measure; the board carried the motion. The minutes do not record a roll-call tally for that vote.
On a separate agenda item, Trustee Ryan Osborn moved to accept a $1,800 bid from Top Down Tree Service to remove a tree at the corner of W Denton Rd and Cass Ave. Trustee Trent Wheatley seconded; roll call recorded Ay es from Osborn, Wheatley, Hobelman and Rosekrans and a Nay from Fangmeier. The motion carried.
Trustees also appointed Hunter Moural of Olsson (license S-1838) as the street superintendent for the remainder of 2026 after a motion by Osborn and a second by Wheatley; the minutes note the motion carried.
On insurance, Trustee Doug Rosekrans moved, and Trustee Trent Wheatley seconded, to opt out of terrorism coverage on the village’s annual policy; the motion carried as recorded in the minutes.
The board took these votes as part of a broader business agenda that included reviews of financial statements and service contracts. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m., and Village Clerk/Treasurer Charlotte TeBrink certified the minutes.
