Council hears updates on golf operations, hospital repairs, Villa staffing and NNDC marketing

Golf: An individual identified as Amanda discussed advertising for help, clubhouse rental pricing and that the golf operation expects to hire three grounds employees and additional clubhouse staff depending on applications. The golf board will next meet in March.
Hospital: Council Member Brent Gebbie reported that some sprinkler heads and suppression-system components at the hospital were faulty. He said repair costs of about $8,000 are included in the hospital’s budget and the hospital is not requesting city funding; the system will be inspected after new heads are installed.
Villa: Council President April Grant said the Villa has a meeting scheduled and is advertising for a certified administrator; council members discussed overlap between the provisional administrator role and Social Services duties and confirmed training is provided by departments or the hospital as needed.
NNDC: Grant also reported that the Northwest Nebraska Development Corporation welcomed three new board members (one representing Crawford’s agriculture sector) and approved moving forward with a new marketing company, including consideration of a website redesign and social media coaching.
Council did not take financial action on these reports during the meeting beyond noting the hospital’s repair costs are budgeted under its accounts.
