At its Dec. 19 meeting, the Crawford City Council approved a group of routine but consequential items: two plumbing permits, board appointments, reappointments, vehicle repairs, payroll preauthorization and the approval of bills and claims.
The council approved plumbing permits for Budget Plumbing and Applegarth Plumbing. Mayor Shane Norman recommended Scott Debock for the council vacancy; Brent Gebbie moved to appoint Debock and the motion passed. The council approved appointing Ann Stephens to the Crawford Public Library Board of Trustees to replace outgoing board member David Keim and reappointed Brendan C. Lilley as Street Superintendent for 2025.
Council also reappointed JEO Consulting Group as city engineer for 2025; council members discussed CDBG procurement rules requiring an engineer on record for three years or procurement via RFPs to avoid losing funding. Edward (role not specified in the transcript) reported Pine Ridge Service Center had parts and the council approved the labor quote to repair the back driveshaft of a 2013 Dodge pickup.
Interim Clerk/Treasurer Jeanie Daigger presented the November 2024 Treasurer’s Report; the council approved the report and authorized the interim clerk to prepare payroll claims for the payroll distribution scheduled for Dec. 23, 2024. The council then approved the bills, requisitions and transfers as presented. Christopher Dean moved to adjourn into executive session to discuss council issues; the motion passed and the meeting entered executive session at 7:30 p.m. The executive session ended at 8:25 p.m.
Recorded votes on the routine items show unanimous approval for most motions; one recorded abstention appeared for the treasurer's report approval. Minutes were prepared by Jeanne Daigger and the record shows Mayor Shane Norman’s approval of the minutes.
