Council authorizes several vehicle repairs and troubleshooting for city fleet

Council Member Brent Gebbie moved to contract with Charlie's to perform the listed repairs at the quoted price; Council Member Christopher Dean seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Council also directed that the city dump truck be taken to Brad’s in Chadron for troubleshooting after members identified electrical and safety issues with the plow and truck. The motion to send the dump truck to Brad’s was made by Scott DeBock, seconded by Gebbie and carried unanimously.
A quote for a commercial-grade snow plow for the dump truck was discussed but the council took no action at this meeting. Members also discussed exploring county/state surplus auctions as a source for replacement vehicles.
The council asked staff to follow up on vendor warranties for recent work and to return with additional information on cost-effective replacement options.
