The Crawford City Council approved creation of a committee to update the city’s employee manual and to pursue legal review of the draft.
Staff member Adam described a process of drafting a revised handbook and having it legally reviewed; he offered to share sample handbooks. Council Member Scott DeBock moved to form the new committee, which was seconded by Brent Gebbie and approved unanimously. Members named to the committee were Council President April Grant, Ashtyn, Scott DeBock, Dennis and the City Clerk. The committee is to meet within the next 30 days to begin work.
Council discussed LARM (insurance/assistance) as an option for review but did not bind the committee to a single reviewer. The council expects the committee to present proposed updates and any recommended policy changes to the full council for consideration.
The action is procedural; no changes to employee policy were adopted at this meeting.
