Council approves corrected stop and speed-limit signs to meet NDOT standards

The Crawford City Council on Jan. 28 approved an amended quote from BARCO to replace previously quoted undersized stop and speed-limit signs with Nebraska Department of Transportation regulation-compliant sizes and to add RV dump signage.
Council Member Brent Gebbie moved to approve the corrected BARCO quote and Council Member Scott DeBock seconded. The motion carried unanimously with Council Members Gebbie, DeBock, April Grant and Christopher Dean voting AYE.
Council members said the change followed a review of NDOT guidelines that indicated the originally quoted speed-limit signs were too small for regulatory compliance. The council did not identify additional city funding obligations tied to the purchase at the meeting.
The council’s action updates a prior October 8, 2024 authorization by swapping in correctly sized signs and adding signage for the RV dump. The city clerk will proceed with the purchase and scheduling of sign installation under the approved quote.
The council moved on to other routine agenda items after the vote.
