Council approves tree removals, library board appointment and routine bills

At its Nov. 26 meeting the Crawford City Council approved several routine administrative items.
Tree removals: Council approved specific tree removals from Northwest Nebraska Tree Service: one Elm inside the park entrance ($750), two near the frisbee golf area ($425) and one Elm behind the Legion building ($300) for a total of $1,475. The motion was made by Council Member Brent Gebbie, seconded by Tony Storbeck and passed unanimously. The council noted there are up to 18 trees identified overall and additional removals may proceed if funding becomes available.
Library Board appointment: The council approved the Library Board of Trustees’ recommendation to appoint Cheryl Witt; the motion by Tony Storbeck was seconded by Christopher Dean and passed without opposition.
Bills and claims: Council approved payroll and other bills. Council Member Brent Gebbie questioned a $543 paint purchase from Goldstar Products during the claims discussion; after consideration the council approved the bills and claims unanimously.
