Hodges said contractor Brandon Studebaker provided a quote indicating repairs for the large shelter would exceed 50% of the grant amount, prompting consideration of demolition for the restroom unit and use of temporary porta-potties (estimated at $1,800–$2,000) placed near the small ball diamond. Hodges noted the restrooms are not in the flood plain. Council members asked for input and discussion about scope and cost; no final action on the grant or demolition plan was recorded that evening.
The administrator asked whether village staff should tear down the restroom and haul debris, and also reported he had reached out to vendors to evaluate temporary sanitary options. Council members were invited to provide feedback and residents were encouraged to contact the Village office or to attend the third reading of related items if applicable.
