Superintendent outlines 1.57% school budget increase and new K–4 STEM program

Highlights include a K–4 STEM unified arts program, a new K–8 English language arts curriculum, one‑to‑one iPads for all students K–12, and a secure entry vestibule at Tozier School to be funded in part by a School Revolving Renovation Fund (SRRF) grant with the state covering 60% and the district covering 40% of that project’s cost.
Alberty said the district reduced four positions to remain fiscally responsible while minimizing programming impacts and noted the public budget meeting and SRRF hearing are scheduled for April 29, 2026, at Oak Hill High School (5:30 p.m. SRRF hearing; 6:30 p.m. budget meeting).
What’s next: the district will present the budget at the public meetings and receive public comment as part of the adoption process.
