St. Paul council vacates WINSON Subdivision and approves Final Plat for WINSON Acres

The St. Paul City Council on March 17 approved vacating the WINSON Subdivision and adopted the Final Plat for WINSON Acres after public hearings produced no public comment. Mayor Mike Feeken opened both hearings at 6:31 p.m.; Gale Larsen provided an overview of the vacation and the plat.
The council voted to approve the vacation (motion by Council member Bill Peters, seconded by Council member Mark Wilson) and later introduced and waived the three readings for Ordinance No. 1058 to effect the vacation. Council member Jerry Woodgate moved for final passage of Ordinance No. 1058; the ordinance passed on a 4–0 roll-call vote (Kowalski, Peters, Wilson and Woodgate voting aye).
Following a separate public comment period for the Final Plat of WINSON Acres, which drew no speakers, the council approved the plat (motion by Council member Woodgate; second by Council member Wilson) and passed Ordinance No. 1059, authorizing filing of a Certificate of Approval with the Register of Deeds. The council then approved the Certificate of Approval for the described tract in Government Lots 4 and 5 in the SW 1/4 of Section 35, Township 15 North, Range 10 West, 6th P.M., Howard County, Nebraska.
The actions completed the formal land-use steps recorded in the meeting minutes: public hearings, motions to approve, ordinance introductions with waived readings, and final passage of both ordinances. The record shows no public objections during the hearings.
What happens next: the council directed that the appropriate documentation be filed with Howard County so that the vacated plat and the WINSON Acres Final Plat become part of the county records.
