Bear Valley Unified introduces Nolan Brammer as Big Bear High School head varsity coach

The Bear Valley Unified School District on Monday introduced Nolan Brammer as a new teacher and the head varsity coach at Big Bear High School.

District staff member Mr. Mar introduced Brammer, praising his experience in special education, physical education and business and finance, and highlighting his coaching background at the high school and college levels. "We are thrilled to have Nolan join BBUS and look forward to the positive impact he'll make in our students and school community," Mr. Mar said.

Brammer thanked the board and community, said he plans to "continue the Big Bear tradition" and emphasized his intention to focus on relationships with students. "I want to pour into these kids and build those relationships," Brammer said. He said he will commute during his first year and attend a family meeting the following day to meet parents.

Administrators noted the district's recent investments in facilities and described Brammer as someone who aligns with the district's emphasis on academics and athletics. Brammer was joined at the meeting by his wife, Fatima, and daughter Elena, who were introduced to the board.

Next steps: Brammer said he will begin family outreach and meet student-athletes after clearance is completed; scheduled events and the start of his coaching duties will follow district clearance procedures.
