Planning Director Nicholas described the OpenGov implementation as a "complete overhaul" of permitting and licensing workflows intended to formalize processes and improve customer service. Staff had anticipated a July–August timeframe for the implementation, but Nicholas said the date may push out and that the town will not roll out the system until staff is confident in its operation.
Commissioners noted that recent permit and planning matters have been moving forward manually via email, and staff said the software is intended to provide clearer processes and save staff time. No formal adoption or procurement vote occurred in the meeting; the item was provided as an informational update.
Staff will continue testing the system and report back on rollout timing.
