Ballard awards $3.47 million 1000 South corridor contract to Perco Rock Co.

Jones & DeMille Engineer Jeff Baker told the Ballard City Council that eight bids were received for the 1000 South corridor project and recommended awarding the contract to Perco Rock Co., the apparent low bidder at $3,473,118.00. Based on his experience with the company, Baker said they "do quality work" and recommended the award.
Council Member Shaun Murray moved to award the contract to Perco Rock Co.; Council Member Steve Secrest seconded the motion and the council voted unanimously in favor. The engineering update that followed noted Roosevelt City approved the final Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for an easement, staff will invoice Roosevelt City and SSD2 for their PTIF funding share, and the project is awaiting issuance of the Army Corps permit prior to further work.
The contract award authorizes staff to finalize contract documents and proceed with pre-construction steps contingent on required permits and interjurisdictional reimbursements.
