The Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck on Dec. 3 adopted a temporary suspension of chapter 99 of the town code to allow an upcoming television production greater flexibility than current filming rules permit, including extended hours and sporadic shoot days.
Town officials said the production company sought a temporary pause in parts of the filmmaking ordinance so crews could operate outside the usual hour and day limitations without violating the law. The board opened a public hearing and then approved the suspension as presented.
During the hearing a location manager told the board the production will notify neighbors in advance and maintain a small, consistent team assigned to the block. Assistant location manager Lauren said she had been going door‑to‑door and that neighbors have her number to report issues.
Resident Kevin Dennehy, who said he lives at 12 Park Hill Lane in Larchmont, told the board, “We’ve been working with our neighbors as well to make sure that there won’t be any inconveniences. We’ll be accountable and available, and just we’ll say thank you for accommodating this.”
Board members emphasized that the suspension is temporary and limited in scope; staff said the town expects only a sporadic set of shoot days rather than continuous filming through May 31, when the suspension is set to expire and the law would return to full effect.
The board also discussed how resident complaints would be handled: staff said residents will have a local contact list, the location manager committed to responding promptly, and police will be available on site if needed. The board approved the suspension by motion.
The town encouraged residents with concerns about the shoots to use the contact information that the production team provides and to call the town office if issues are not resolved.
