Board authorizes Station 401 furnishings purchase and TEP easement

The Drexel Heights Fire District on Dec. 18, 2020 authorized procurement for furnishings at Station 401 and approved a right-of-way easement for Tucson Electric Power to install and maintain electric service equipment at the station.
Fire Chief Douglas Chappell told the board the construction at Station 401 is progressing on schedule and that the rebuilt station needs office and lobby furnishings and chairs for various locations. The board authorized the Fire Chief to issue a purchase order after a motion by James Bertrand, seconded by Charles Mendonca; the motion carried 5-0.
Chief Chappell also explained that Tucson Electric Power requires a re-configuration of an existing easement to accommodate electric service equipment for the new station. The board approved Resolution No. 2020-18 authorizing the Fire Chief to execute the right-of-way easement; the resolution was moved by James Bertrand, seconded by Charles Mendonca, and passed 5-0.
Both approvals are part of completing facilities work at Station 401; staff did not provide dollar amounts for the furnishings or the easement in the minutes.
