During the March 13 meeting, the Town Manager told the Duncan Common Council that several capital projects and grant-funded efforts are moving forward while one federal allotment remains pending.
The Colonias contract has been signed and delivered, and the town is waiting for SEAGO to issue a notice to proceed; staff said contractor KE&G can begin work in approximately three to four weeks once SEAGO authorizes it. The Town Manager also reported that, under a State Parks grant, skate‑park construction could begin as early as April 17 and as late as May 17, with concrete work and a block wall planned in early April. Staff are awaiting an estimate for murals on each side of town hall and said carpeting work at the town hall was scheduled to start on March 19.
The Town Manager additionally reported crews are starting pipe‑laying funded by a separate grant and that the USDA directed‑spending grant the town was awarded remains “stuck in Congress,” delaying use of those funds. Councilors received these status updates as part of their regular manager’s report; no formal council action was recorded on the projects during the meeting.
Council members were also told to expect follow‑up items on the April agenda, including a formal resolution related to solid‑waste billing and continued updates on project schedules.
