The Drexel Heights Fire District board accepted the district’s Fiscal Year 2020 audit and the Public Safety Pension Retirement System actuarial report during a telephonic meeting on Nov. 20, 2020. Lydia Hunter of accounting firm Beach Fleischman presented the audit and the board voted 5-0 to accept the report.
The audit presentation included an unmodified opinion on the financial statements and a compliance review that referenced Arizona Revised Statutes 48-805.02(G). After discussion the board approved the auditors’ report and authorized staff to distribute copies to Pima County and the finance staff responsible for the district’s bond administration.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved the checks-issued listing and the monthly financial report for the period ending Oct. 31, 2020 (motion by James Bertrand; second by Chair Gary Bynum), also by unanimous vote.
The board adopted a proposed meeting calendar for 2021 that retains monthly meetings on the fourth Friday, with November and December meetings moved to the third Friday. The schedule was approved 5-0.
The board’s actions were procedural and fiscal in nature; no new tax or bond measures were proposed in this session. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Dec. 18, 2020, at 9:00 a.m.
