Board approves FAA grant applications and airport contracts on consent

During the June 15 meeting the Texarkana Board of Directors adopted six consent items that together authorize the city to pursue FAA funding and related procurements for airport equipment and infrastructure.
Items on the consent agenda included approval of minutes, adoption of a resolution to submit an FAA grant application for procurement of an aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicle and additional equipment (to be funded by an FAA grant and the Arkansas Division of Aeronautics), authorization for the interim airport director to enter a contract with Rosenbauer Minnesota LLC for the ARFF vehicle, and adoption of an FAA grant application for construction of a vehicle service road. The consent package also included authorization for the interim airport director to execute work order number 2500666‑2 with Garver LLC for engineering services for the vehicle service road, and authorizing an agreement with Tatum Excavating Company to construct the road, with funding from FAA and the Arkansas Division of Aeronautics.
A board member moved adoption, another seconded, and the chair called for aye; the items passed by voice vote.
What's next: staff will proceed with grant submittals, procurement steps and the negotiated engineering and construction agreements consistent with the grant terms and the Arkansas Division of Aeronautics funding.
