Drexel Heights board approves intergovernmental agreements, pension funding policy and routine items in unanimous votes

At its June 26 telephonic meeting, the Drexel Heights Fire District Board approved a package of resolutions and routine motions by unanimous vote.
Resolutions adopted by 5-0 votes included the annual PSPRS funding policy (Resolution 2020-11) required by Arizona Revised Statutes §38-863.01; an intergovernmental agreement to share related services with Corona de Tucson Fire District (Resolution 2020-08); subscriber services agreements for dispatch-related services with Corona de Tucson (Resolution 2020-09), Arivaca Fire District (Resolution 2020-10) and Elephant Head Volunteer Fire Department; and an intergovernmental agreement for backup ambulance response with Northwest Fire District (Resolution 2020-12). The board also declared August "Drowning Impact Awareness Month" in the district (Resolution 2020-07).
Other routine actions approved included the checks-issued listing and monthly financial report for the period ending May 31, 2020; authorization to dispose of a 1989 Rosewood trailer as surplus property; and direction to the Fire Chief to cast the Arizona Fire District Association Area 6 ballot for incumbent Chief Chuck Wunder.
Laura Dailey raised minor contract concerns, pointing out typographical errors in the alerting-system contract and questioning a clause concerning "Images & Testimonials." Chief Douglas Chappell said the typos would be corrected and that participation in images or testimonials would be optional before execution of the contract.
The board held no public comments during the budget hearing and closed the meeting at 9:42 a.m.
